Symbols and art
A swastika (Skt. su, ‘good’ and asti, ‘it is’) is an ancient Indian symbol of good fortune, often found on the Buddha’s chest or the soles of his feet. In the twentieth century, the Nazis reinterpreted and exploited the swastika for their own purposes.
