Legendary and historical figures

Asita was a wise man who was asked to inspect the body of the newborn Siddhartha Gautama. On seeing that the child bore the thirty-two major and eighty minor marks of a great man (signs of a Buddha), he prophesied that the child would one day become a fully awakened being, a buddha.
