Seated Bodhisattva

Seated Bodhisattva

This sculpture in high relief shows a seated bodhisattva on a draped throne. His hands are performing the dharmachakra gesture, which symbolizes the propagation of the Buddhist teachings. The figure is opulently dressed and richly adorned. An artistically wound turban completes the regal attire. His posture conveys serenity, and his half-closed eyes lend his face a meditative expression.
