Head of a Buddha

Head of a Buddha

This bronze head of a buddha roughly dates to the 16th century and has characteristics typical of the Ayutthaya style: the locks of hair are now rendered by means of tiny raised dots separated from the forehead by a thin line. Unfortunately, this buddha has lost the flame pinnacle that typically rises from the protuberance on the crown of the head.
