Like all Bodhisattvas, Kannon wears princely, Indian-style garments. Here they take the form of a wrap-around skirt, a loose shawl across his chest, and a long, narrow scarf draped in two elegant loops across his legs. His jewellery consists of a crown and armbands. In his left hand, Kannon holds a lotus bud, the symbol of purity. The base on which he stands also takes the form of a lotus flower.
